{Technique Tuesday} March 2018 Release Countdown: Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Technique Tuesday's March 2018 Release Countdown! The design team is featuring a variety of release products and you're sure to love them so be sure to head over to the Technique Tuesday blog for the full reveal and links to all of the amazing projects. All of the product links will go live on March 1, 2018 for your shopping pleasure.

Today, I'm showcasing the Sassy Love Your Guts Stamp Set and Sassy Love Your Guts Crafting Dies. I love the sassy series and this one is no exception, especially since it comes with coordinating dies! You won't be able to pick a favourite sentiment with this one because they're all equally fun. I combined three of the sentiments and masked off part of the middle one to create my own custom sentiment.

It was so much fun colouring the bubble letters! The little heart between the smartphones is from Love Stinks and I popped up the smartphones for dimension. I added doilies and a row of white glitter hearts die cut from the Love Puzzle Crafting Dies, adhered with a tiny attacher.

See you tomorrow for Release Day!

{Technique Tuesday} March 2018 Release Countdown: Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of Technique Tuesday's March 2018 Release Countdown! The design team is featuring a variety of release products and you're sure to love them so be sure to head over to the Technique Tuesday blog for the full reveal and links to all of the amazing projects. All of the product links will go live on March 1, 2018 for your shopping pleasure.

Today, I've combined the Cherry Blossoms Stamp Set, Cherry Blossoms Crafting Dies and the Love Puzzle Crafting Dies. It'd been several months since I used Copic markers and it felt oddly foreign to me but I'm glad I forced myself to use them on these Cherry Blossoms because the result made me so happy! I used my mini MISTI to stamp the blossoms in the same spot on both ends of the panel.

I used the Love Puzzle Crafting Dies to die cut the LOVE letters and used the same shades of Copic markers to customize the letters. Then I die cut the two words from the Cherry Blossoms Crafting Dies in silver and black glitter cardstock. After gauging the position of all of the die cuts, I stamped the sentiment on the panel, adhered the LOVE letters, then stamped the sentiment again on top of the LOVE letters. To finish, I layered and adhered the other two die cut words to the panel.

See you tomorrow for Day 2 of the March Release Countdown!

{Technique Tuesday} Stinky Birthday + Birthday Sale!

I'm popping in to share a quick, fun birthday card featuring Love Stinks and to tell you about a fabulous sale at Technique Tuesday! This cute little set is now on sale, along with everything else in the store and I think everyone should own this set. ;)

I cut several masks for both the poopy couple and the toilet paper rolls. Then I covered up the images as I stamped to create a group of toilet paper rolls celebrating with the poop. LOL  I added some shimmer to all the party-goers and glitter tape along the side of the card base, under the top panel.

Welcome to the Spellbinders February 19th 2018 Blog Hop! We are celebrating the release of two amazing collections, Handmade by Stephanie Low and Die D-Lites (Feb). I'm sharing a video tutorial here and on my YouTube Channel, using the Party Food dies from the Die D-Lites (Feb) collection. I'm pretty sure you'll start to feel hungry after seeing how realistic the food looks. LOL I also got to play with the Platinum 6 die cutting machine and it's amazing!

My video tutorial does most of the talking so I won't write too much about how I made these cards. I used all of the dies that are included in the Party Food set.

The first card features the pizza dies with the Italian sentiment 'Ciao!' for hello (and goodbye). The second card features the taco dies with the Spanish sentiment 'Gracias!' for thank you. I added secondary sentiments to both cards.

All of the ink colours and supplies are listed below for your convenience.

Hi, everyone! I have some very exciting news!! I'm thrilled to be joining the Technique Tuesday family as part of the 2018 Design Team. I'm so honoured to be surrounded by such stellar designers and I look forward to sharing loads of fun cards like this one.

I combined the flamingos from Floyd & Frannie with shoes and a purse from Sassy Fashion. I used some creative masking to fit the booties on to Floyd's feet and loop the purse around Frannie's neck. LOL I used distress inks and loose watercolouring to add colour to the scene.

Sneak peeks for the March 2018 Release begin on February 27th so stay tuned. Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Altenew} Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom Release Winner!

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by for the Build-a-Flower: Peony Blossom Release and left some love! I enjoyed reading every single one of your comments and appreciate all of your kind words!

Before I announce the winner, I'm leaving you with another card featuring the Build-a-Flower: Peony Blossom set. I took a very different approach from my previous two cards and created masks with three of the flower dies to stamp this one-layer card. After stamping the sentiment on the card, I decided it needed something extra so I added black glitter and silver glitter die cuts over the stamped sentiment.

I used Random.org to select a winner for the $20 gift certificate to shop at the Altenew online store and the lucky lady is Jocelyn Olson!

Congratulations, Jocelyn! Please email winner@altenew.com by February 28, 2018 with the subject line Altenew Build-a-Flower: Peony Blossom Release Winner from Emily's blog to be set up with your gift certificate. Happy shopping!

{Winnie & Walter} 4th Birthday Bash Blog Hop Celebrating Love and Friendship

Welcome to Winnie & Walter's 4th Birthday Bash Blog Hop! I'm delighted to be celebrating Love & Friendship with Winnie & Walter on this special occasion so I made two cards, one celebrating friendship and the other celebrating love. Be sure to visit the entire hop list below and leave comments along the way for your chance to win!

To create my friendship card, I combined Sentimental: Gift and The Big, the Bold and Friends Cutaways to create a custom sentiment. Then I used dies from Essentials: Audrey Cutaways for the scalloped mat, borders, butterflies and hearts.

I used both borders from Audrey Cutaways to underline the word friend from The Big, the Bold and Friends. Then I backed it with coloured cardstock to coordinate with the hearts. The large die cut word was popped up with fun foam for dimension and I modified the original die by cutting off the letter s for singularity. The silver glitter butterflies are layered over slate cardstock.

For my love card, I combined Sentimental: Love and the Love Cutaway to create the custom sentiment. I used Katharine Cutaways for the mat and Audrey Cutaways for the tag and heart.

The large word die was layered with silver glitter and popped up with fun foam. I also heat embossed Eva's Favorite Flowers on vellum to embellish the word love and finished with a white silk bow on the flower.

The printed vellum and patterned paper from both cards are from a retired Cosmo Cricket paper pad called Vellumptuous.

Valentine's Day Teacher Gifts

Yesterday, I posted an in-the-works photo on Instagram for these relatively quick-to-make Valentine's gifts for my son's teachers. For the boxes, I used Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Treat Box, Wplus9's Big Deal Additions and Sunny Studio Stamps' Sending My Love. I customized the sentiment by substituting "person in" from the original Wplus9 sentiment with the word "Valentine" from Sunny Studio.

I stamped the tent on the back of the boxes to complete the little scene. To finish, I filled the boxes with Carnaby heart-shaped chocolates and tied the smallest Paper Smooches Gift Tags 3 tag on to the handle with Lawn Fawn's black hemp cord.

Please visit my latest Instagram post for another look at these cute boxes. Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Altenew} Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom Release + Giveaway

Hi, everyone! Today, Altenew is releasing a new Build-a-Flower set and it's the stunning Peony Blossom. This stunning 6x8 set offers stamped flowers in three sizes and two different leaves. The coordinating dies include petals in four sizes for building even more dimension, as well as unique stamen dies. This means there's no limit to the number of layering options, whether stamped with one, two or three layers or simply die cut with plain cardstock!

I have a friend who's going through a difficult time and I wanted to make an uplifting encouragement card for her. I stamped two each of the small and medium flowers using the three lightest ink colours in the Rose Petal Oval Set. I also used the three lightest colours from my favourite Sea Shore Oval Set for the leaves.

For the sentiment, I combined words from Be Strong with Super Script. I used Puffy Heart for the top line and Volcano Lake for the scripted awesome die cut.

My second card was made with Chinese New Year in mind but it also works as a birthday card. This time, I stamped the peonies with the three lightest colours from the Red Sunset Oval Set and the leaves using the Green Fields Oval Set.

The scripted celebrate is from Super Script and the secondary lines are also from Be Strong. I used Rouge and Industrial Diamond inks. I added two of the stamen dies die cut from white glitter cardstock. On both cards, I used my fingertips to curl the edges of the flower petals and leaves.
